Tremlett’s
Tremlett’s is a blend of Geneva Tremlett’s Bitter – a tannic and tart (aka bittersharp) cider apple that lives up to its name, with the sweet and aromatic Priscilla apple. Cider connoisseurs immediately recognize that this cider is special. It is also a limited release–until, that is, we get more of this unusual yet fabulous bittersharp apple grafted, planted and bearing.
This winter’s release while dry has more fruity and floral notes than past releases. Aromas are of pome fruits, apple skin, lemon and honeysuckle. On the palate, acid and tannins are well balanced, with flavors of green grape, apricot and subtle minerality. This is a great cider on its own, in cocktails or with lightly flavored dishes such as shrimp cocktail, oysters, poached white fish, and broiled chicken.
